Ancient City of Kimistene

It is located within the borders of Eskipazar district of Karabuk province. The statue bases belonging to the Emperor Caracalla (211-217) and Diacletianus (284-305), temples and inscriptions related to the masses of Zeus Kiminsteros, Demeter, Artenis Kratione Hermes were an important settlement during the Roman Empire period. Among the inscriptions, inscriptions belonging to the people of Kimesteneli were working as miners in Romania. The locals of Kimistene came to the shores of Amasra and Bartın from the Dalmatian coast. Deresemail, Hanköy, Bayındır are ancient settlements. Inscriptions written in Latin and Ancient Greek, various depictions and sculptures on stones were found.
