Located in the city center, the mosque looks like a complex with its square, fountain, bridge and a madrasah that was added later.II. The mosque, which was built by Nasrullah Kadi in 1506 with the bridges and water pools in the fountain during the Beyazid period, is the biggest mosque of Kastamonu. The mosque, which has a 6-domed structure until its expansion in 1746, has become a 9-domed with this work. The calligraphy and ornaments inside the mosque were written by the famous calligrapher of Kastamonu, Ahmet Şevket Efendi.
During the National Struggle, our National Poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy, who traveled around Anatolia and gathered support for the War of Independence, also preached in the Nasrullah Mosque and encouraged the people for the National Struggle.
The water pools inside the Nasrullah Mosque fountain were built with the mosque in 1506, while the fountain part was built by a philanthropist named Bedii in 1752 with two domes.
According to a rumor among the people, once a person drinking water from this fountain, either visited Kastamonu seven times in his lifetime or settled in Kastamonu.
