Filyos Bird Sanctuary - Filyos Delta

Filyos Delta is an important delta located between Kızılırmak Delta and Sakarya River in the Western Black Sea Region. The deltas formed in areas where rivers mix with the seas are the places where biological diversity and consequently bird diversity are the most. Zonguldak in terms of species diversity is in 10 provinces in Turkey. Of the 30 rare bird species in the country, 20 are seen in the Filyos Delta. Filyos Delta is a rich environment not only for birds but also for many living groups. Its natural structure (morphology) and resources are rich in biodiversity. The wetland forms the resting and feeding area of a large number of bird species, and in reeds there are many, such as shorebirds, heron, reed and songbirds.
