The land structure of Ilgaz Mountain region generally consists of serpentines, schists and volcanic rocks. In the field, there are interesting examples in terms of mountain formation movements as well as ground structure. Turkey’s longest and moving broken line is the North Anatolian Fault, Ilgaz Mountain passes from the southern outskirts. The field consists of valleys, ridges and peaks of different characters. It also has a geomorphological structure that offers high landscape features.
The vegetation consisting of larch, red pine, and fir-dominated tree species, developing from the foothills of the Ilgaz Mountain, is supported by a rich forest sub-community.
